The Other Mentoring Programme is a new initiative designed to bridge the gap between emerging and established women in the creative industry.
The Other Mentoring Programme aims to provide practical solutions to the everyday reality of the glass ceiling by facilitating connections between women at both ends of the career ladder, that bridge the gap between college and the professional workforce. Commencing in March 2019, ten well-matched mentors and mentees will participate in a four-month programme with the intention of nurturing long term professional relationships; evolving from mentoring into guidance and collaboration.
When does it start?
The Other Mentoring Programme will officially launch on Friday 8 March to coincide with International Women’s Day 2018. Participants will be invited to a meet and greet session to kickstart the programme.
How do I get involved?
Expressions of interest are invited through submission of a short survey, designed to effectively match mentors and mentees. The pilot programme is limited to 10 mentors and 10 mentees in total.
How does it work?
Mentors and mentees will be provided with a framework to guide the programme. Participants will meet on a monthly basis, with the intention of establishing a long-lasting professional relationship.
Each informal meeting will be held on a one-to-one basis, tailored with an objective for both participants to meet.
Mentees are required to submit a registration fee of €10 inclusive. This will provide the mentor with membership for the full duration of the programme, and support and advice when needed from the organisers.
The Other Project is a new initiative aimed at empowering women in the creative industries.
Through the manifestation of talks, events, a podcast and a mentoring programme; we intend to equip women with the skills needed to advance in their careers.
This is not another talk series; this is an opportunity for us to position ourselves as equals in this industry.
